The big picture...
This isn't our exact route but it helps to give an idea of everything in relation to each other.
Lessons learned:
- Leave the house when planned so that you don't miss your flight :/
- Schedule in a recovery day about halfway through the trip.
- Don't be offended when someone says that the trip you planned reminded them of being in the war.. lol
Day 1: Pop Arrives
Day 2&3: Stonehenge & London Science Museum, England
One of Pop's flights got cancelled, and, with the changes, his suitcase got lost :( Thankfully we were able to hang around the house the next day until it was delivered. We left around 9pm for the 3 hour drive to Stonehenge. After only getting a few hours of sleep in the car, we stopped at the London Science Museum on the way home. We made it through less than half of the museum before having to call it quits on account of exhaustion.

Day 4&5: Amsterdam, Holland
Back in Amsterdam for a more "normal" visit without all of the King's Day festivities. On the agenda: a dinner of small Indonesian dishes (a Dutch tradition), Micropia, and cheese tasting.
Day 6: Recovery Day
A much needed break that was not on the schedule. Look at me being flexible!!
Day 7&8: Hadrian's Wall, England
Since we missed our original flight and got in 5 hours later than expected :( our only sightseeing on the first day was dinner and the "hotel".
Day 9: Bletchley Park, England
The site of extensive code-breaking during WWII.
Day 10&11: Normandy Beaches, France
First time in France! We landed around 9:30 am and took a tour around the Omaha Beach area from 2-6 pm. We flew out around 10:30 am the next day. It was a quick trip, but totally worth it!
